I made these macarons for my friend’s baby shower. The rabbit is Miffy, and the bear on the right is the teddy bear that Miffy always carries around. We also have a guest star, Rilakkuma, a popular Japanese bear character.
For the filling, I made lemon buttercream to go with Miffy, and salted caramel buttercream to go with both the bears.
The recipe and technique for making these macarons are the same as the panda bear macarons that I made a few months ago. So I will not repost it here. However, I’m thinking about putting up a step-by-step tutorial for making the Rilakkuma macarons depending on the number of interests. Just leave a comment below or send me an email if you are keen.

ReplyDeleteOh, these are so cute! I bet they taste delicious too. I still don't have the patience to make cute adorable little creatures with macarons yet. One day... maybe. :)
ReplyDeletePlease post the rilakkuma tutorial, what are u using to make the eyes, mouth? Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteThere wasn't much interest in the rilakkuma macaron tutorial, so I don't think I will post a tutorial on that. For the eyes and mouth, I used royal icing (egg whites, icing sugar and black colouring), pipe it on the macaron after it has form a crust and just prior to baking. Hope that helps.
